With the same no-nonsense, never-quit attitude you've seen on his shows like "X-Weighted" and "Taking It Off", Plakas gave us the down-low on measuring that elusive and highly sought after metabolism everyone is dying to jack up, and how to burn up those pesky fat cells. BRINGING BACK SOME LUCKY CHARMS
A special thanks to our Show Presenter, Pandora! Their gorgeous booth, decked out with white couches and glass displays, was the welcoming sight to all attendees who came into the Hall. Visitors browsed the Pandora catalogues in search of their perfect charm, and with the help of CISN FM's Jacqueline Greenly, audiences had a chance hear the stories behind the charms of the two lucky winners of the Pandora Contest on CISN, who came up on stage Sunday.
Wayne Lee
Live on Stage
A MESMERIZING PERFORMANCE
The audience was in tears of laughter as renowned hypnotist Wayne Lee captivated members of the crowd live on stage! In the blink of an eye, he transformed his quarry into everything from concert musicians to dancing dervishes. These lucky ladies even had a chance to escape the Edmonton winter and take a mental holiday to shores of a tropical beach for a relaxing respite! Entertainment in its finest form, Lee proved that the mind can overcome any inhibition with just a little persuasion.
A warm thank you to Wayne for also keeping our attendees updated on all the great features at the Show as our genial emcee!
Dr. Arya Sharma
Live on Stage
A HUMOUROUS LOOK AT OUR OBSESSION WITH FOOD
It was an honour to have weight-loss specialist Dr. Ayra Sharma on our Main Stage Sunday afternoon. With candid humour, the German-born author who possesses degrees in internal medicine, nephrology and an honorary doctor of Science, opened our eyes to the challenging issue of weight loss and obesity. Sharma pointed out the pitfalls of yo-yo dieting, and answered the audience's questions on how to shed pounds with a healthy, long-term plan.
Funky Petals

FENG-SHUI FLOWERS WITH FUNKY PETALS
The smell of spring was in the air as flower arranging professional Blair Goebel gave a creative demonstration on how to put together a vase of brilliantly coloured blossoms that would drop the jaw of Martha Stewart!

Our heartfelt gratitude to Funky Petals for their gorgeous arrangements that adorned the Stage area with springtime brightness! All the beautiful flowers truly made a difference to the Show.
Lurana
Show Feature
IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING
As proud supporters of our community, the Edmonton Woman's Show welcomed back our long-time charity of choice, the Lurana Shelter.

Sister Lucinda and the volunteers at the shelter put on a silent auction where visitors could bid on an amazing selection of items from a brand new handbag to a sterling silver necklace.

Thank you to all of our exhibitors who offered up prizes, including Rencon Industries, Canada Diagnostic Centres, Two 12 Social Co., Fifth Avenue Jewellery, Fruits of Sherbrooke, Heavy Hitters Inc., Daisy Hearts Jewellery, Klee Boutique, CTV, McMasters Photographers, and Child's Play Novelties. Your generous donations went to the Lurana Shelter Society to help in their mission to aid women and children fleeing domestic violence.

SOME LOOKS FROM DOWN UNDER!
With Spring around the corner, women were excited to discover hot new looks for the up-and-coming season, and we were glad to offer them a chance to see Believe Fit's new line of activewear by Lorna Jane, which has come all the way to the frigid north from Australia! Gorgeous outfits from The Fashion Event were also displayed in a spectacular parade of classy styles, brought to life by Edmonton's own Numa Models.
Heavy Hitters Indoor Patio
Show Feature
AN INDOOR INTERPRETATION ON THE OUTDOOR PATIO
A great new addition to the Spring Show, the Indoor Patio by Heavy Hitters Landscaping was a delight to visit. Attendees dropped by throughout the busy day to have a refreshing beverage, and got a chance to enjoy the springtime feel created by the garden-style layout and beautiful stonework. For garden enthusiasts, Heavy Hitters had a variety of garden tools and items to help jumpstart their springtime projects!
Blow Out Bar Looks

TIME TO GET PAMPERED AND PERMED!
Ladies left looking glamorous and gorgeous after paying a trip to our Blow Out Bar. Thanks to the hair stylists from Marvel, they were pampered and beautified with blowouts, haircuts, and snazzy express manicures!
The rockin' seventies were brought back to life single-handedly by infamous Virgin Radio personality Pepper. Determined to make the perm this year's retro fad, Pepper put his hair into the talented hands of Alexander Daniel Hair & Body Boutique, and got himself a perm live on our Main Stage along with six volunteers!
Kitchen Stage Excitement

FIRE UP THE OVEN!
Those looking to test their culinary skill with a new mouth-watering dish came by the Cooking Stage this weekend to watch two great Edmonton chefs!

Mouths were watering at our Kitchen Stage during the weekend when recipe inventor and creative professional Chef Brad Smoliak prepared some positively scrumptious dishes for our guests to sample. After showing us how to whip up some quick and easy side dishes, including a honey glazed vegetable platter and a creamy potato dish laden with cheese, the ladies were lined up for a taste!
Who knew gluten and dairy-free could be so easy and delicious? Our attendees were flabbergasted to find out dietary foods were just as tasty as the store bought products after being treated to an amazing presentation by RAW food chef Amy-Jean Taylor. After tasting her five-minute Fudge Brawnies, which were not only gluten and dairy free, but sugar free and ready without any time in the oven, guests were ready to swap out their sweets for these delicious guilt-free alternatives!
